Enterprise Sarcasm Sprint Names
The register's founding genre and its most quotable. These are the words that come out of a planning meeting with the sincerity removed — Strategic Reprioritization, Governance Theater, Proactive Damage Control — sitting close enough to real corporate speech that a stakeholder skimming the board might not notice anything had happened.
That proximity is both the joke and the risk. A good half of these could pass as genuine sprint names in a large enough organisation, which is exactly what makes them funny and exactly what makes them survivable. Nothing here will get you into a meeting you did not want to be in.
- Issue when
- The sprint exists because a roadmap said so, and everyone involved knows it.
- Withhold when
- Nobody in the room has read the roadmap. This genre needs a shared referent to be anything other than words.
Selected entries
-
Per My Last Email17
Paired with Re: Per My Last Email, which is for the sprint after this one did not work.
-
Definition of “Done-ish”24
The quotation marks are the argument. Without them it is just a process document.
-
Every User Has a Test System28
After the sysadmin proverb. Some teams are lucky enough to have a separate one to run production in.

The number after each is its character count. 69 of these fit Jira's 30-character cap, and 66 still fit with a short board prefix in front — see sprint names for Jira. Click one to have it stamped by the generator.

Reading a list is not the same as being handed a verdict. The generator convenes a committee, deliberates briefly, and stamps exactly one name — and it remembers which ones you have already had, so it keeps serving fresh ones until the genre runs dry.
